Free. Here's how that works.

No card. No trial clock. No feature held back because of the price. And a plain answer to the obvious question: how does it pay for itself?

What free means here.

No card to start

You never enter payment details to sign up or to keep going.

No trial clock

Nothing runs out after 14 or 30 days.

Nothing held back

Features are not kept for a paid plan. As your business grows, more of Operate appears.

No ads

No adverts in your screens, and none sent to your customers.

Why we built it free.

A small business should not have to choose between software and stock. Good bookkeeping tools cost money many owners do not have, so many keep paper books or nothing at all.

There is a second reason. The records you keep in Operate can become verified evidence: for a grant application, for an export, for a conversation about capital. A business with clean records is easier to back. You decide whether any of it is ever seen.

How 1877 Capital earns.

1877 Capital Ltd makes Operate. It earns in two places, and neither is your bookkeeping.

What pays for Operate

  • The capital side: fees from the platform that introduces ready businesses to people who want to back them.
  • Aggregated, consented, information-only insight, with small numbers hidden so no business can be picked out.

What we never do

  • Charge you to keep your books.
  • Sell your individual records.
  • Advertise to your customers.

What you pay. What you never pay for.

Operate records payments. It does not process them, so it takes no cut of a sale.

Sharing is your choice.

Two switches control what anyone outside your business can see. Both are off by default. Turn one off and sharing stops.

How sharing works

With readiness sharing on, you may be seen on 1877 Capital's diaspora platform, which is information and matchmaking only. 1877 Capital never holds money, and being seen is not a promise of funding.

Honest questions.

Will it always be free?

The core business system is free for small businesses, and that is the plan the company is built on. If anything about that ever changes, you will be told well in advance, and your records stay yours to export.

What happens to my data?

It is yours. We do not sell individual records. Nothing leaves your business unless you turn a sharing switch on, and an advisor only ever sees summaries, never individual sales. The data controller is 1877 Capital Ltd. For privacy questions, write to hello@1877capital.com.

Is there a catch?

The honest catch is that Operate is new. It works today in a demonstration build, the production build is under way, and early access is opening to small businesses. Beyond that, there is no card, no clock and no lock on features.

Do I need an accountant?

Not to start. Operate keeps your records and prepares figures, but it does not give accounting, tax or legal advice. You check the figures and submit to Tax Administration Jamaica yourself. If you have an accountant, you can give them their own role.

What if I already use other software?

You can start fresh in Operate today. Importing from other bookkeeping software and spreadsheets is coming next. Imported records will carry a source label, so you can tell them from records you made here.

Who is 1877 Capital?

1877 Capital Ltd is the company that makes Operate. It also runs a diaspora platform for information and matchmaking. It does not hold money, and it does not give financial advice.

Try it on your own business.
